Poem For Wedding Wish Tree

and serious: Statement by Angela Merkel

E igentlich but I'm still access the rhetoric, intensively for two days with the analysis scheme by Stephen Toulmin. This I first applied to a few passages in Nietzsche's "On the Use and Abuse of History for Life," now I am at picking apart the government statement Angela Merkel on 15 December 2010. The rhetoric of our Federal Chancellor interests me for two years, ever since I stumbled across an opinion on the Afghanistan mission am. In addition I also had written a lot. However, all this was just a sample, no detailed analysis. Today I wanted to respond to a statement by Kristina Köhler, which can be found in the same parliamentary session as the government statement of Angela Merkel. But so far I have come not anymore.
D as Toulmin scheme of the way, is great. However, it has some serious problems when applied without the knowledge or without consideration of rhetorical figures. In Merkel's speech is found that is a phenomenon which I call provisionally "inductive metaphor." Merkel introduces a metaphor that is judgmental, but abstract. In this case, it is the word "nuclear." She says: "We have experienced this year, which is the core of economic and monetary union and the European Union as a whole accounts for ... '. This metaphor of the core it replaces during the following subset of the concept of community responsibility. In other words, the metaphor is replaced by a euphemism. This term is euphemistic way, not because Ms Merkel had not defined this (of which we know nothing), but because he as an idea, the idea of responsibility, can be turned down so badly. Inset: Plett distinguishes his book Systematic rhetoric, the rhetorical figures different in grammar, semantics and pragmatics. If I criticize the euphemism, as an effect and this strictly by Angela Merkel disconnect, I am not referring to the semantics, but to the pragmatics of such a euphemism. The euphemism is of him in the pragmatics. Figures, like the metaphor or euphemism, without knowledge of the argument can not be evaluated in their pragmatic content. However, the argument here, rather a parallel world that is sometimes close, sometimes further entangled with the rhetorical figures and developed a "certain" of their own.
